Understanding the metrics

Fear & Greed Index — Ranges from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed). Values below 25 historically correlate with buying opportunities, while values above 75 often precede corrections. The index aggregates volatility, market momentum, social media sentiment, surveys, Bitcoin dominance, and Google Trends data.

Total Market Cap — The combined value of all cryptocurrencies. A rising market cap with stable BTC dominance suggests broad-based growth, while a falling market cap with rising dominance indicates capital rotating back to Bitcoin (risk-off).

BTC & ETH Dominance — Bitcoin dominance above 50% typically signals a risk-averse market. When dominance drops, capital often flows into altcoins ("alt season"). Ethereum dominance tracks DeFi and smart contract platform activity.

24h Trading Volume — High volume confirms price trends. A price move on low volume is weaker and more likely to reverse. Compare today's volume to the weekly average for context.
